2017 Event Recap

The 6th annual O’Neill Forebay/ San Luis Reservoir C.A.S.T. for kids event was held on a glorious Saturday morning in September. 26 children and their families came out to enjoy a day of fishing, boat rides provided by the 13 boaters,  as well as a delicious lunch. Largemouth bass and Bluegill were the predominant fish caught by the children as smiles were everywhere thanks to the 47 dedicated volunteers who came out to bless the children. Thanks to the California Dept. of Water Resources and it’s staff for allowing the children to enjoy this special day. See you all in 2018 for more fun!

2016 Event Recap

It definitely was a very nice weather day at the Forebay. Experienced volunteers setup their particular areas, including registration, readying rods & reels, and tackle boxes for the kids, and serving breakfast, which included a wide assortment of burritos. Then the boaters and kids were matched up for their morning of fishing and time on the water. Throughout the morning the children and their families enjoyed music, activities with Fish & Wildlife, the VFW’s Flag Ceremony and then lunch and awards. We had 22 awesome kids participate in the event, with 10 boaters and a pontoon boat, and 56 volunteers.
