A Recap from Jim Behnken, Regional Director of Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas

Our TX-OK-AR region was a whirlwind of events in 2023. Forty-one events were held, with numerous first-time events. New coordinators stepped up to help us bless the lives of more children than we have ever served in our 32-year history as a foundation. What continues to amaze (and motivate) me is the hearts of not only the coordinators, but also all the volunteers who selflessly give us their time to serve these children with the honor and love they so greatly deserve.

So many moments during the year stand out to me, it is difficult to select just one or two to mention here. Our Lake Lavon event was held in April which means our first-time coordinator Andrew Hollien had to begin preparation many months in advance. His hard work paid off with a perfect event. Andrew and his team had everything covered. Another first-time event coordinated by both Jason and Cecilia Weisburg was at Richland Chambers. This event was also super special and well done. The fishing was spectacular and was held with zero issues.

I am looking forward to 2024 and I feel every event I had in my region this year will occur in 2024 plus I have a half a dozen new events in the works. More amazing children served, and this is what we have strived to do for the past 32 years. All excitement is what I expect in 2024!
