Hey folks! Jay Yelas here with your C.A.S.T. for Kids Fish Tip for this month.
Today, I’d just like to go over terminal tackle selection.
I want to set you up for success with your child.
What I recommend first off is you go bait fishing. Get yourself some nightcrawlers or red worms.
Here’s how you rig it up:
- Start with a bobber. You tie the bobber about three or four feet above a size ten long shank bait hook.
- You want to make sure you get a size ten and a long shank because the long shank makes it easy to remove the fish once they’ve been caught.
- Then, get you a split shot that is size 5 or size 7. Put that about halfway between the bobber and the hook.
That’s it.
So, if you rig up like that, you should be able to go anywhere and catch some fish off the shoreline.
