At C.A.S.T. for Kids, we believe every child is worth celebrating!
This is evident at our events where our volunteers celebrate children with special needs in a variety of ways. Boat captains encourage the child in their boat to take the next step whether that be trying to cast or reeling in a catch. Whatever that child learns to try that day, even simply having the courage to get on a boat, is applauded by our supportive boat captains.
Some events welcome the children with a cheer so everyone feels wanted from the start. Every event culminates with an award ceremony with each child taking their turn in the spotlight. Parents and volunteers rally with applause and shouts as the child receives a personalized plaque with a commemorative photo.
In the video above, the event at Lake Lanier in Gainesville, Georgia took celebrating to a whole new level. A cheerleading squad of kids with special needs attended the event to cheer on other kids with special needs. It just doesn’t get better than that!
The smiles on the kids’ and parents’ faces attest that a word of encouragement goes a long way!
At C.A.S.T. for Kids, we strive to not focus on a child’s disability but to instead celebrate their unique abilities! In fact, that’s probably what all of us want. Whatever our kids with special needs can do makes them the star of the day!
The inaugural C.A.S.T. For Kids event at Lake Lanier was over the top and the turnout was unbelievable to say the least. Kudos go out to Laurie Morgan and Laura Cowart for coordinating the event. The event provided the kids memories that they will cherish forever. I am sure that this will be the first of many more events to come for the Georgia Chapter of C.A.S.T. For Kids.
It was a fabulous event with so many extra special touches. We look forward to many more so many more kids in Georgia get to benefit from all the love and fun!
