The 7th Annual Keith Combs Sam Rayburn Slam
You will recognize Keith Combs as a Bassmaster Elite Series Tournament Angler, but we know Keith and his wife, Jennifer, as C.A.S.T. for Kids family members! Keith has spent his life fishing and giving back to the community. In 2022, Keith and Jennifer wanted to introduce their Lufkin/Sam Rayburn community to the C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation.
Keith and Jennifer host an annual Sam Rayburn Slam Open Bass Tournament each year. Last year, they decided to make a bigger impact by hosting a dinner & auction on Friday night to raise funds to support the C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation and by hosting a C.A.S.T. for Kids fishing event on Saturday morning on Sam Rayburn alongside the Sam Rayburn Slam!
It was one of the best weekends of the year, so everyone decided to do it again in 2023!

Join us for a fun evening of inspiring stories, delicious food, great auction items, chance to win games, and more as we come together to raise funds to support the C.A.S.T. for Kids mission of enriching the lives of children with special needs, supporting their families, and strengthening communities through the sport of fishing.
Our guest speaker, Hunter Baughman, didn’t let bacterial meningitis stop his competitive spirit or his love of the great outdoors. At 9 months old, he lost both legs below the knees, his left hand and parts of his fingers on his right hand to bacterial meningitis. His perseverance to compete in local and regional levels of bass fishing paid off in 2021 when he was invited to fish the National Professional Fishing League making a dream come true. In June 2023, Hunter coordinated our C.A.S.T. for Kids C & C by the Lake event in Cabot, Arkansas. Hunter said, “Coordinating the C.A.S.T. event was special for me. Coming from someone that lives with a disability, it was very rewarding to show others with disabilities that they can do anything with enough effort. Seeing those smiles made it all worth it.”
