2023 from the View of Eastern Operations Manager, Amy Gable
Even before I started working at C.A.S.T. for Kids, I understood the profound impact of being a part of creating special memories for others. Especially for children, they are pure, innocent individuals each getting different opportunities throughout life. What I didn’t realize was just how meaningful being part of this Foundation would be. I was very fortunate throughout 2023 to be able to learn from my teammates. They are such valuable resources to me, and I’m forever thankful for the knowledge they share with me. Without their patience, willingness to teach, and hearts of absolute gold towards these children, I wouldn’t have recognized how momentous an event day with C.A.S.T. for Kids could be.
From behind the scenes through a computer screen, I had the privilege in assisting the Eastern Regional Director, Jeff Barnes, with the East region C.A.S.T. for Kids events. Early on I was exposed to the selflessness that goes into planning and attending events for children with special needs. I got to work virtually with the Eastern event coordinators who are some of the best people in their communities. I got to attend eight events this season, which really brought the months of hard work by our staff and coordinators together…Those few hours are unbeatable.
I think together as a whole we reflect a small crew who is making a huge positive impact nationwide. I can’t wait to learn more, meet more volunteers in unique communities, and back coordinators in whatever ways they need. I’m honored to be a small part of these memories for these children. There is no shortage of thrills to be had while fishing, there’s no shortage of memories to be made, and there is certainly no shortage of children to be reached.
