A note from our Executive Director, Jay Yelas
The C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation had its best year ever in terms of number of events and financial support in 2022. We held 79 events nationwide and received over $1 million in support, both all-time highs in the 31 year history of the foundation. Our mission of enriching the lives of children with special needs, supporting their families, and strengthening communities through the sport of fishing continues to resonate with folks and will strengthen in 2023, as we currently have 98 events planned for next year.
This growth comes as no surprise, as C.A.S.T. for Kids events provide an exceptional opportunity for people from all walks of life to join together for the purpose of celebrating children with special needs through a fun day fishing. What’s not to like about that? As the financial backing of the foundation becomes solid, we look forward to providing more an more opportunities for children with special needs to enjoy a day on the water.
