2017 Event Recap

This years Lake Guntersville CAST event was the biggest so far. We had well over 200 people in attendance,
helping to bring a wonderful day to some very special kids. The TVA was the main sponsor of the event and had
employees as far away as Nashville in attendance. We had 45 children registered and had 35 show up on a
beautiful, mild and cool day. The guys at Bodda Getta Boys BBQ cooked food donated by Top O’ The River
restaurant for everyone in attendance. The River church had their youth set up a booth for face painting and the
Coast Guard Auxiliory had a booth set up as well. The Guntersville High School Anchor Club were on habd to
greet the children and their families as well as decorate the tables for the lunch and awards. The Arab High
Fishing Team helped with 3 boats and a dozen shore volunteers as well. It was a great time for the kids, many
smiles were had by all.

2016 Event Recap

This year’s event was held at a new location, The Guntersville City Harbor. Everything went well with the location, it is easier for families to reach and in the Guntersville City limits. There was 42 children total registered with only 2 cancellations. We had 31 children show; the 60 percent chance of rain may have kept a few from attending. There ended up being no rain and most of the kids caught fish. By 8:15 we had 24 children and their families fishing. Next year I need to make sure that everyone knows the event is at the Harbor, 2 families went out to the State Park, but found their way to the event late. I also need to try and have a couple of more pontoon boat captains next year. Thank you for your hard working and dedication to the program. We couldn’t do it without all of our amazing event partners.
