“We never thought fishing was a possibility for our son. Thank you for making it possible! He loved it!”
This is a C.A.S.T. for Kids event designed to provide children with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy a quality outdoor recreational experience through the sport of fishing. Not all locations are conducive to hosting boating events. This event gives participants the opportunity to fish from shore.

2016 Event Recap: By Jeff Barnes
On September 10th 2016, a farm pond just west of Beloit Wisconsin was the site for a C.A.S.T. for Kids event, 26 special needs children and their families were treated to a day of fishing and fun. The stocked pond gave up plenty of fish catching action for the kids, many who were able to catch their first fish. Many shore volunteers showed up to assist the children with baiting hooks, casting and fishing, safety and tips. By the end of the day, kids were baiting their own hooks and casting on their own. There is nothing better than being able to watch your bobber bounce and bounce and then go underwater, followed by reeling in a fish and the feel of it tugging and surging on the line. Volunteers provided a nice shore lunch for the children and their families, followed by an awards ceremony, where each child was acknowledged in front of their families and friends. Once the event ended, many of the children still kept on fishing, enjoying their new found passion; a definite sign that the event was a huge success!
