“My son and I attended the Lake Shasta event last year. The volunteers were amazing and my son, who had never been on the water, had such a fun time! Thank you CAST for Kids for giving my child an experience he will never forget!”

2017 Event Report:

The 17th C.A.S.T. For Kids event on Shasta Lake, in Northern California, was held on Saturday, June 10th, 2017. Twenty three excited special kids headed out for a morning of fishing on what ended up being a picture perfect day. Some amazing fish were caught. Regardless of whether the kids caught fish or not, everyone returned with a huge smile on their face. During the BBQ lunch provided by the Redding Elks Lodge the excitement of the morning’s adventure was clearly heard. The kids were bubbling with all kinds of great fish stories. This day is really about new friendships, making memories and connecting these kids and their families with the outdoors. The special bond between boat captain and their new fishing buddy will not soon be forgotten. One thing is for sure… everyone who participated is hooked and looking forward to doing it again next year.
