“Awesome program that helped my daughter realize what she could do, helped us as parents see what she could do, helped the volunteers see what she could do, helped those watching see what she could do. Profound success.”

This is a C.A.S.T. for Kids event designed to provide children with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy a quality outdoor recreational experience through the sport of fishing. Not all locations are conducive to hosting boating events. This event gives participants the opportunity to fish from shore.

2018 Event Recap

The Candlewood Lake C.A.S.T. For Kids event started at 9 a.m. All of the volunteers arrived on time and check-in ran smoothly. The event was initially delayed due to confusion on behalf of the Danbury Town Park, which has since been brought to their attention by multiple people. The park was a perfect site for this event because it provided plenty of room for all of the participants to learn how to cast without worrying about other participant’s lines. Although we didn’t reach the goal of having 40 participants register, I am confident that the C.A.S.T. For Kids Foundation got the recognition it deserves from this event. I received positive feedback from most of the participants guardians, as well as from the volunteers. We have also received word that the cost of the event will be covered by one of the attendees for years to come. I truly believe we fulfilled the mission of the C.A.S.T. For Kids Foundation.
